Chicks really dig my Beomaster 1600. It may be more of a chick magnet than me !!!!
I've never considered the BM 1600 to be a chick magnet -but then again; I've never had a BM 1600 That is yet another wonderful thing about B&O -most women like it when they see it. They

Hello Michael, I agree with Burantek to find a Beostystem 5500 or a Beocenter 7x0x series with a Beogram CDX or CDX2 :) The 5500 is very versatile and does not occupy a lot of space ;)

I certainly love the timeless B&O design, my more than 30-year-old Beosystem(s) looks like something that could be made today. The iconic vintage B&O sound also has a trait that makes it nice to listen to, even for prolonged periods of time with high volume levels. Guess that there is something lovely to the special treble response? Anyway,

Wow! What a great condition this old radio is in! It will be my pleasure to follow up on this thread, as you always make really exiting restoration threads :)

For all my B&O, I use glass cleaner (for sunglasses), it usually works great on those aluminum surfaces. I use is for all my Beomasters (including a Beomaster 4400 :), Beograms, Beocords and even Beovox speakers. Min far har kørt sin BM6000 med 4-ohms Jamo CBR højttalere siden midten af firserne, og det har altid fungeret, dog kan forstærkeren blive ret varm hvis man spiller lidt højt, men ikke noget problem :) -Søren
Tom Can you provide the Type number for your BG4002, I am interested whether it is the earlier or later version. If it is the later version, I might be able to help you. Regards Geoff
I believe that the carriage module of the 400x series remained unalted through all 8 years of production :)

Wow, I could never imagine this thread to become that big! -Søren

Well, I think that the best of my beomasters is an 80's Beomaster 6000. Sounds like the 8000 but simpler to service and replacement parts are cheap and available. Next to that comes the Beomaster 5500: Fine sound and a whole lot of options. Actually, my current setup is a mixtutre of a 6000/5500 for full controllability of my CD50. -Søren

Hi Martin, I have found a suitable replacement at the local electronics store, thank you for the offer though :) -Søren
