The Beonic Man: Interesting poll results although only 11 people it seems have bought one! Not encouraging. I was going to go and buy a Beo 5 remote next week, are they so bad? More information please on what these 'teething' problems are and when would be a good time to buy the remote? Simon. Firstly, I feel the beo 5 is a very unique B&O

Flappo The Grate: so how did they win what hi fi tv of the year then and become the number one selling lcd tv ? my tv has a stunning pic quality and cost less than half the equivalent bno maybe you should demo one with a decent souce ? > i have blu ray and hd dvd players and they both look staggeringly good on a 1080p screen They get rave reviews
-
Jumbo: Hi, I know this is not B&O related but i was looking at an iphone today and i was impressed. I respect the views of the people on this forum and would appreciate any comments from owners. I don't even mind the 18 month contract but not sure what happens after 18 months, 2 stories from 2 different stores today. Any views if buying an unlocked

Flappo The Grate: what i DO find utterly mad is the bv8 sold as a cutting edge tv , then not having built in dtv in fact it looks like it's an option all bno tvs unless you spend £15k and sony's new lcd's aren't as bad as has been made out , i've had one a year and it's excellent , my brother bought the 32sd3000 a few months

Greg: Danny: a wide selection of different sized LCD and plasma screens to connect to the BS3 would be my favourite - and easily (and relatively cheap) to upgrade! That's an excellent solution, and one I really wanted to work, but the BS3 isn't quite there for me, and I've heard so many horror stories about non-B&O panels not working
-
Greg: Well obviously on a 720 set like the BV4 (or indeed 428XD) you'll not notice the difference as much as you do on a 1080 set, for sure. But, and again maybe I'm 'special' but, the difference was very obvious to me. If you can't see it, of course don't bother with BR. But I'm amazed you can't! I should add the caveat
-
Greg: & soundproof: @Greg I don't care either way, Greg. I'm very happy with the quality of my upscaled DVDs - though I do enjoy the higher quality sound of the HD disc formats. But there's a lot of misinformation from either side in the so called "war." The threadstarter linked to a statistic that's worth taking a look
-
As a manufacturer in China of BR and HDDVD I think we should not look at historic sales. Its what is happening now that matters and will these formats ever become mainstream?? - if they dont the whole HD thing is not a war- its a memory!! HD is a bit of a con and the public realise it! with upscaled dvd offering very similar performance and a HUGE title
-
Pinoeer isa good choice and if one feels its way better than the BV4 then you must get the Pioneer! no further debate required!
-
Greg: With SD content only, I'd maybe agree - although a well set-up (professionally calibrated) 8G Pioneer probably still has the edge IMO (obviously, this is subjective). I've seen this and the Sony with my own SD content, as well as blu-ray discs. To be fair, the Sony did look quite impressive, if a little brash, oversharp and lacking depth
