Having read the sad news earlier, I am listening to Dark Side of the Moon. Simon

A sad day. Pink Floyd were one of the bands that got me through my adolescence, and the first band I ever saw live (28 years ago!) Simon

I think you would need to change the batteries every day if you found a way to do it! Simon

My condolences on the death of your father. If you do a search for 'Beovox' on eBay you will find quite a wide rage of suitable speakers available for relatively little money. There are plenty of people here who will be happy to advise you on the best choices. Even if the pieces you have don't work at all you can assemble a vintage B&O

I think the problem is with the dealer, not with B&O as a brand. I would have walked away if I had been offered anything expensive and electrical (any brand) for a significant proportion of the new price without any sort of warranty, maybe that is a lesson to learn from the experience? Simon

Welcome to Beoworld! There have been a few threads on similar topics. Does this help? http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/127843.aspx Simon

TNot the finest speakers of that era, but they are decent enough and there is no reason they should not last for many years to come. Here in the UK the price would be too high, £10-20 would be the going rate, but I am not sure how easy it is to get older B&O in Poland so you may feel it is worth it. Simon

I have done it both ways, overall i would recommend buying ready made leads with moulded connectors.rather than mess around with adding your own connectors etc. I got mine from iconic-av via eBay but they now have their own website: http://www.iconic-av.co.uk Simon

Apologies Graham! The parcel arrived midweek, but I have not had the chance to do anything with it yet as it was my wife's birthday this weekend and diappearing to play with my new toy would not have gone down well! I have not been on holiday, just very busy so I haven't been here much. Thank you again for all your help. Simon

My CD50 is a bit temperamental and refused to read CDs at all for a day or two , but improved greatly when I used a head-cleaning CD on it. Was this problem out of the blue? Mine had been failing to read the first minute or so of CD's for a few days.especially on 70-80 min CD's, but now the heads are clean it works perfectly 90% of the time
