Thanks Marc Unfortunately changing capacitors is as far as I am able to go! Just aquired a BM2400-2. Has terrible hum which obviously means changing all the caps. One thing that I'm not sure of is that when I turn it on and decrease the volume all the way down... when the lowest level is reached it jumps immediately to the highest volume. If I decrease the volume and stop and then start decreasing it again it won't

Thanks Menahem!! The mystery has been solved and I finally understand what a CD4 switch and modulator is for. I unfortunately then only have the switch : ( So I'm presuming that since the beogram will at full line level you would not be able to use the phono input on a Beomaster?
