It is indeed a very good looking recorder. The wooden parts look really great (especially after oiling!). Just hope it would work (never should have touched the adjustments anyway) Thanks for the link. I have visited the page but then lost the link. The pictures already cleared one of my questions: it's down for 4 track and up for 2 track. Better

Dillen: It will probably need cleaning and lubricating of the whole mechanism, motor etc. It's belt driven, one belt (in stock if you need). Thanks! I'll try to clean it first. It most likely helps as the previous owner has used the recorder a lot so it might be good idea to take a look. From which way should I open it, the top or the bottom

Die_Bogener: Try the AV Ports. If the effect is also there by using a vx recorder or any other external device, then the RGB board is defect. Otherwise the tuner. But: replace ALL electrolyt capacitors... on power supply and mainboard. Now as you mentioned I remember that I tested that. The problem was the same with tuner and VCR. So that would indicate

Hello. A relative of mine has a Beovision LX5500. He bought it as new in 1993 or something and it has been in heavy use since. It has been repaired few times. Some weeks ago the LX started to lose it colors occasionaly, and my relative is considering to buy a new lcd-tv instead of repairing the Beovision. The TV is now put aside and I am offered to

Hello. I have a Beocord 1500 deluxe open reel recorder that I bought some years ago. It's working nicely, except that the azimuth settings of the tape heads are out. I was adjusting one of those, and suddenly the spring-plate under the head broke. I replaced it by some custom made part, but now the adjustments are out. And now I can't get it

Hello! I have a Becenter 1400 (which I bought for 30 euros!). It's otherwise completely working (I did changed some lamps) but there seems to be some small troubles. Sometimes when playing a tape there is some "metallic" noise, that sounds like there were something touching the flywheel (sometimes it slows the playback speed down) and

Dillen: The stereo lamp and the lamps in the tapedeck are the same. The tuning lamps are of a different wattage. I have both types in stock. Thanks for this info. I sent you a PM about buying some lamps :) Regarding the muting of the speakers, it seems to depend on the version. Some mutes, others don't. Some have 1 pair of speaker outputs, others

Some update to the situation: I tested the BC1400 more yesterday and it seems that the only problem with the absence of tuning lights in the FM area is the broken stereo-light. As I took the one of the two tuning lights and put it in the stereo-light socket, it worked with the radio, and the other tuning light also. So I guess the problem is only the

Hello. I bought a Beocenter 1400 (in almost perfect condition and just 25 euros!). It had some troubles with the switches at start (both channels not come up in FM section unless the button was pressed several times etc.) but I opened the case (not too easy, you know!) and used some contact cleaner and now the switches are working Ok. But there are

Thanks cozza and Peter! As I was testing the later VX I took the bottom cover out and just thought that "No way! Too complex". As I read about the specifications of this unit, it's not hard to see how complicated machine this is I think I'll try to check the circuit board damage of the original unit, just in case there is something
