Seems to correspond with my impressions. It does depend on the kind of music one listens to - I chose the Linn Händel as the decider, since it contains information that would reveal this tendency towards stridency that has been a comment as far as the Soundsmith cartridges are concerned. As I comment, the Soundsmith cartridges handled the difficult

Peter's done a great job reformatting the text. Did you pull it from the pdf, Peter? I haven't heard the Dynaudio speakers and the Beovox 5000/2500 combo in the same room. But I have heard Frede Kristensen's, and I think they can safely be stated to be excellently maintained and tuned. Loved listening to them - and brought along a CD I know

A friend has an MMC2 that resembles the top one you've got. Something's wrong with the suspension, and whenever he wants to play a record with it, he gives the top of the tone arm a very light nudge with his finger, once it has settled in the groove. Before the nudge he has a scraping sound, after the nudge the arm descends a touch and the sound

Anthony Garza in Texas used to do excellent work on B&O components, but I believe he's stopped taking regular orders. I suspect he might be willing to resuscitate a Beogram 4000, though - they deserve to be kept alive. You'll find more info about Garza through this link: http://barditch.beocentral.com/ I'm a very happy owner of a well

1. MP3-player that was iTunes compatible in both PC/Mac. With a B&O sound level DAC-chip and with excellent headset. Don't even go there.... technology is just moving too fast (just like cell phones) leave it to others but make a good dock (with a B&O DAC) instead. I think B&O is on the right track with that one, dropping the MP3 players

If you pick

1. MP3-player that was iTunes compatible in both PC/Mac. With a B&O sound level DAC-chip and with excellent headset. 2. BeoSound 4 with the ability to play both CDs and DVDs - easily connected to a BeoVision 8 - with a total package including BL3 speakers for front surrounds and BL4s for rear. 3. An iPod dock player - such as BeoSound 3 - but with
There is still the same tired selection of movies.
I would definitely recommend a hunt through the Genres, instead of the main page. Particularly Independent Films -- fantastic treasure trove of hundreds of titles.

There's a good Beolab 8000 that's been listed in the Norwegian "craig's list" for a while. He's asking for a bid - new stylus. http://www.finn.no/finn/bap/object?finnkode=18885110

Hmmm. I'm off to look for a nice pair of active Beolab speakers. 5000 might be too large, but then again ...
