I agree with you but I suppose its place is being taken by the iPod dock. CDs are no longer selling so well apparently and being FM only could be seen as a drawback. It is certainly the reason I never bought one. It would also have benefitted from a battery pack of some sort.

I nearly bought a BS3 but as it was to go in a shower room, I decided to buy a Pure Oasis instead - this was a few years ago. If it is any consolation, the Oasis is a complete pain as the battery life has gone down to a level where I have to charge it every week - it is on for about 15 minutes a day. It also sometimes loses all charge and then loses

That is pretty good already. I would be tempted to use a little detergent and water on a cloth on the plastic sides but not near the label or the dial. Vintage radios seem to sell for quite a lot these days. You will definitely get the biggest market on eBay though new selling regulations make me wary of recommending this. If you do, package it well

I don't know about the gold SP8/9. The one I had was gold as well.

I just got excited then and thought yours had a similar serial number to mine - and then I realised that the last picture is of mine!! 77438!

Very nice! I particularly like the colour of the wood. I would suggest that getting it restored is a good idea as the rubber mushrooms deteriorate and the rubber on the idler wheel may need some work. The thing one really notices with these decks is the bass extension. I have a special cartridge which Frede sourced from Axel though as yours has the

Show us a picture - I would normally suggest a good clean though - B&O sells on condition. Don't do anything straight away though - we can probably advise on how to clean as well!
