The Beonic Man: Thanks for all comments so far. I will refrain from buying the PS3 and wait for the updated DVD player for my BV7-40. If I were a game player then I might be very slightly tempted but to read people's comments that HD content on many disks is not any better than SD content, well, that says it all I think! It is becomming clearer

May I enquire who is using a projector with BS3 and what model?? any general expereinces welcome!!

KENMAC: Is it worth it ? The short and probably unhelpful answer is I'm not sure. We have the BV7-32 (rather than the 7-40). There is some benefit in picture quality over a standard DVD player. The PS3 even does a reasonable job of upscaling normal DVD's though no doubt not nearly as good as a BV7-40(V3). Clearly the screen size (32 inch) probably

soundproof: 355f: The whole 1.3 thing is a mess and the problem further is that the transfers on many BR discs are no better than scaled DVD. The whole industry needs a rethink of a standard for the SOURCE- in theory one should buy a 1080 panel with a BR source and the picture should be superb but in reality on the whole - apart from a few 'status

Niveau: Beolab, I don't agree with you : -) What sounds "nice and smooth" is subjective i agree. I would always meassure on the speakers abillity to get close to recording. The BL8000 just don't do the job for me ! I had problems with the BL9's also.. missing midrange... But they still outperform the 8000 by miles... The Dane Sound

soundproof: SAMSUNG is coming with a combined BluRay/HD-DVD player shortly (been in the rumour mill for quite a while). Maybe B&O are thinking of adapting that? My Hi-Fi dealer recently confirmed he's expecting the Samsung player in January at the latest. http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/04/13/1933201&from=rss Thats correct, but the

Craig: Hi Jay, it works fine with normal bulbs. Just not when I use an Energy Saving one. Tested the bulb and it works so it is not down to a faulty bulb either. Craig If you alter the settings for LC2 to switch just on and off the energy saver will work. You can now but dimmerable ones and they work perfectly
