Perhaps if the BeoSound 5 had the N.Music and N.Radio functions reassigned as, for instance, CD and Radio
Perhaps, it is worth trying. But I do not have a Beomaster 5, so cannot test that. It probably does not depend on LinkPlayer, but more on the Beomaster 5.

When in in "Vintage AudioMaster Compatibility" mode, you cannot access the Main room video. However you could temporarily switch back the settings in LinkPlayer > Preferences > General to get access to main room sources, and then switch back when you have finished. (You'd need to restart LinkPlayer as well). p.

  • Re: How to connect an IR eye to a BeoLink Video?

You can't use a Beolink Video for that, but you can use a Beolink Active with an IR receiver in the room when the non B&O telly is. No need to connect any speaker to it. On your main room TV you'll need to go to the hidden system menu and activate the RF modulator.

LinkPlayer 0.9.5 now has an option to get N.MUSIC and N.RADIO distribution with older Audiomasters. But there are some limitations, one of them is that you will only be able to listen to N.RADIO and N.MUSIC and other mac sources while in the study (No Audio or Videomaster sources). Note that it is still a very new feature that has not been tested much

In morten's case things are a bit more complex as he has an older audiomaster. I have added a new option to support them but there are some limitations. Will detail when I am back home tonight.

I think what csmager asking is how to activate that function, not what it does,

Could have done without the picture, but It is a medical picture - we've all been shown these when we were 14 at school. At that time it made us giggle at most. We live in a strange world where you can show people killing each other on TV, and that's fine, but a bit of flesh is a shoking. Nothing shocking about the human anatomy.
So is there any advantage
Looks better, cheaper, smaller, less vibration, metal, but less powerful (which can be an inconvenient or an advantage : small room, listening to music rather than dolby surround movies).

The photo is on the top of the page when you click on the link. It seems to be on a wall bracket.
1) I am going to use it with an Avant that currently has a DVD1 and Sky box connected - the other socket is for the in built VCR so do I need an AV Expander so that I can get V.Aux or V.Tape 2? I tried to set the variant to without a VCR and gain an extra socket but the options are limited - i.e V.Tape
I do not
