The centre channel mix at the cinema can quite easily be mixed into the output from the main speakers creating a 'phantom' centre channel. I'm not sure how Goldmund can 'build in a centre to both the left and right channels', isn't that just called mixing the signals together?

The B&W statement is completely irrelevant. The 800D is a good speaker, but not as 'amazing' as it's made out to be. Considerable mid-range colouration, a lack of extension and weight for such a large speaker, uneven dispersion (I'd be interested to see some isobar plots for the 800D) and is difficult to match with amps correctly

I would personally go for BeoLab 9s without a subwoofer. The BeoLab 2 is good but it's no way near as detailed and 'agile' as the bass drivers in the BeoLab 9s which perform very well! I've never found the BeoLab 9 to be lacking in bass/extension regardless of whether it's with movies or music.

I think you may have misunderstood me Spiros, what I meant is that the 'Reduced range' caps make it very difficult to use as you have to point the remote control directly at the IR receiver.

Agreed, the HDX is actually a little disappointing. I'm a fan of Naim's kit - their amplifiers produce a very distinctive sound. The HDX is just rather boring though. I would be much better off just connecting some nice Apogee conversion to my iMac and using that instead. It would sound equally as good if not better too...

Length of cabling has nothing to do with it. The signal travels down the cable at around a quarter 'the speed of light', which is really quite fast. The issue is not down to MasterLink, it's because the TV delays the sound to the local speakers in order to deliver the sound and picture in perfect synchronisation. The sound leaving the television

The signal reducer would have the complete opposite effect - I find them to be far too directional!

The BeoVision 10 will have a picture engine - without one, it wouldn't have any of the vision clear features etc... or indeed any sort of picture at all!
