I had to ask a fellow collector who has a set like this at hand. He told me that: - The left knob is the volume, tonecontrol and power switch. All the way left it has a click lock which is power off. Normal rotating is volume, rotating while pulling out is tonecontrol. It will not stay out but snaps back in (to volume) when you let it go. - The right

BC557 and BC558 are quite similar (PNP). The same goes for BC547, 548 and 549 (NPN). If I remember correctly, it's the self-induced noise in operation that decides what markings the transistor receives. BC549 has better noise specs than BC547 etc. The hfe specs (amplification) is usually given the same way but as a letter after the number, ie. BC547C

Yes, a flat piece of fiber, typically red-ish in color and about 3cm wide sticks out through the slit in the back. The antenna will not rotate a lot anyways, only a few degrees. Maybe better visible on this set: And here in a closer view (actually Beakers Mini 513K) : It has been a long time since I had a Minette 512 in my hands, but if I remember correctly

None of the Master Control Panels will work with a Beomaster 3300. It would take a huge reprogramming (rebuild!) to make it work. The Master Control Panel relies on the Beomaster to answer back, which a Beomaster 3300 cannot do. As Chris suggests, get a Beolink 1000. It will work and prices are low right now. Alternatively a Terminal 3300 but that may

I don't know what that knob is for. Maybe a volume regulator for an external speaker. The new owner/restorer will have to check and correct this. I'm sure that a new piece of cloth in the correct pattern and color can be found or made. It may hold bidding down a bit, but surely if this was exactly the type of radio, I was looking for, I wouldn't

I don't think the exact specs are that important. I lean more against a weak transistor. If one of the balance transistors were already replaced because it had failed, it makes sense to think that the other one suffered some damage too. Maybe wrong wattage lamps were used at some point or something shorted. The Beomaster 1900/2400 series is a bit

It is indeed possible for the power supply circuit board to break in transport. It carries a fairly heavy transformer and has no decent support itself. Sometimes the transformer is knocked lose from the board. Check also the solder joints of the regulator transistor. That's the one with the long metal cooling blade. Its solder joints being its only

Nice work, a labour of love and a wonderful beast. Now you know why so many repairers won't take them in. Martin

Looking for a defunct Beogram CD5500. Basically, I need the fittings that hold the round CD tray rails to the bottom plate, a CD tray, the CD spindle motor and probably a couple of other small parts. The CD tray needs to be in good condition, the rest of the deck is not important unless you have a white version in which case the whole exterior needs
