I agree with Mika. Having had a very large collection of amplifiers and speakers, I have found that any of the B&O hi-fi range can be used with any of their passive speakers. The BM8000 is a fine amplifier but is not my favourite. I would actually admit that I have used my 5500 and 7000 far more with a variety of speakers including MS150s and M100s

Get a refund - this one sounds broken.

The BM6500 will be fine with these speakers. I am sure it will go quite loud enough!

The 9500 is on but it is not exactly the same by any means I am afraid.

I would suggest S120s but I would first sort out the amplifier - it certainly should not be tripping at a volume level of 20 no matter what the speaker. The 5500 is a normal receiver and will work with any passive speaker, B&O or not.

Afraid I pinched that one back!! Now on my 3000! Very rare ! You could use the SME 3012 which I have seen used on Beogram 3000s - you could use MMC20 cartridges then! I do have the headshell for this!

You should replace the capacitors in the Beomaster as these tend to leak after a while - you will notice a crust on many of the red capacitors inside. there are also quite a few variable resistors which also go out of spec and have a distressing habit of falling apart when touched. I was not brave enough to do mine so had it done by my local dealer
