Hi, How are you Martin? Well even after a full refurbishment of the circuit (yes, even that cap inside the processor box!) the damping problem was never solved. The RC network you refer to was also envisaged. Raising the 1μF cap to 2.2μF restored correct lowering (a bit too long even, I'd say one sec) but the muting relay never triggered.

Hello! Yes I concur with you. My two Beocord 9000 run quite hot as well. This would seem normal although a bit worrying! The Beocord 6000/8000 don't run as hot, far from it. But then have a look at the diagram and you will understand!

Or you might consider having the speakers enclosed in a box with lots of rice for a few days; rice absorbs humidity quite well! Then you can wipe the white mould powder out. Finally spray anti-mould product all over.
