Not so sure about this thread! The amplifier in the 6500/7000 is not bad but isn't one of the very best in my opinion. The 5500 amplifier is essentially the same. The pre-amp in the 5000 is actually rather nicer. I am not criticising it - I use a 5500 every day and have a 7000 as well - they are all capable of driving any of the B&O passive

S120s - good well balanced speaker and usually cheap! Prone to foam rot.

The colour palette is activated in the site options. You set content manager to enhanced rather than standard. You also get the option to change fonts.

If they are on your desk, definitely the 3s.

It will work perfectly. Remember to reset the tracking weight to about 1.2g.

Has it always been like this, or have you just got it? If the latter, try removing the two extra pins in the DIN plug (they unscrew) and attach it to the Tape 2 input. See what it sounds like through the headphones now. Let us know.

Bingo: Enne, oh ja ! Ik heb geen vrienden hier ... I would be honoured to be thought a friend of Bingo. I respect his opinions and even agree with some of them!

They come apart reasonably easily - the manual is on site but you can possibly find it for free on the internet if you don't want to subscribe. You have to be quite careful with the lid and the back panel as the sprung lid has its spring in the back and the plastic around it becomes brittle with age. There are screws underneath to loosen the top

I don't run a website - this one is more than enough for me! I do have an iDisk though and sometimes host manuals too big to get on site quickly. Once they are on site, I remove them from my iDisk. Of course I keep all my pictures of secret B&O products and software there as well

Agree - very useful when out and about - typing from my consulting room via mobile broadband!! When you see Steve, ask for a quick slurp in my direction as well! I have the afore mentioned MBA, a PowerMac G5, MacBook black and a PowerBook 12" in my household! And a collection of iPods etc! Rivalling the B&O these days!!
