  • Re: the bv9 and it's hdr2

You can record a programme when watching something else but there is only one digital tuner so you cannot watch a different digital channel when recording another. I think this is quite a disadvantage and this is one that Sky+ avoids as it has two digital tuners.

  • Re: BeoSound 9000 vs BeoCenter 2

The digital output can be used to attach to the Beolab 5 speakers so that the D/A converter in the speaker is used rather than the one in the BS9000. It is also possible to use a different DAC if you want if using other speakers.

  • Re: MX4000 / DVD1 & new sky + box

Have you got the STB-C fitted to the MX4000? Are you using Sky at present? There may be a software requirement as the older STB-Cs did not cover Sky+. The code for a Sky+ box is 16.

  • Re: BeoSound 9000 vs BeoCenter 2

It rather depends on how you plan to use your music. I have a BC2 because I use N.Music mainly: I have a large HDD with 20,000 tracks on it. The BC2 has a better display than the BS9000 and also has DAB radio, both of which I find useful. If I mainly used CDs, I would have the BS9000. The BC2 of course can also be a DVD player. I also never liked the

  • Re: Beomaster speaker connection

There are two screw sockets inside the plug. It does limit the size of cable you can use but sensible cable fits fine. Alternatively, B&O can supply cable with a moulded DIN plug on one end and bare wire the other. Good quality but not particularly cheap.

  • Re: Avant Decoder input

What is the picture from the STB like through the Decoder socket? You should be able to set that to composite.

  • Re: Beolab 6000 with Beolab 2 ???

Breaking in means using them for a while! Must confess to not being a huge fan of the 6000 and recognise your description. The Beolab 2 will certainly add bass extension to your set up though I confess to finding it a little too much for music reproduction myself. Excellent for surround sound though. However everyone is different and you may find this

  • Re: Avant Decoder input

The problem here could be that the Decoder socket does not accept RGB signals, just composite, which is going to give a worse picture. None the less, my Avant, which is a slightly more modern one, still has an acceptable picture on the decoder socket. Try another SCART lead first - always look for the cheapest solution first!!

  • Re: Balance slider for Beomaster 2200: Needed desperately!!

I guess that is capacitor C13 on the PC2 board - it is 150pf . I attach the circuit diagram.
