• Re: Beosound 9000 end of life...
I don't get it really, are they really not selling any of them these days that it makes business sense to discontinue it? The costs of producing those systems must be negligible now
Not necessarily - it might well be an expensive device to produce when you take into account the factory floor plan and all

  • Re: BeoLab 8000 Frets

Yes, they are pretty impressive considering the form factor! You can get new frets from B&O - at least black and white are available, I think also a darker shade of gray and perhaps other colours too. The standard blacks are ~200€ pair so not exactly cheap... not impossible to do yourself though with any colour you like, and there are some

  • Re: BeoVox Penta 6611 service manual

The only sure way is to open up one of yours in advance and see what you have on the actual circuit boards. I don't think these ever had a dedicated service manual, they are described in the Pentalab manuals. Anyway, here's what I found in mine - but don't trust that list either! (pics didn't survive the forum upgrade, but they don't

  • Re: DUal BS 8, BL11

USB carries data multiplexed logically on a single physical connection, not audio. You can't achieve anything by "rewiring" it. As far as I can see your only option is to use the analogue inputs of the BS8, essentially turning it into a simple (very unconvenient) active speaker and leaving all the dock functions etc. not useable in this

  • Re: Master Control Panel 5500 display
Bwy the way, what kind of IR eye do you use with this system people?
Nothing - it bounces off a wall or two with no problem, just like with the one-way remotes. Cap problems in the Beomaster seem to reduce the two-way remote range, so you might want to look into that instead of fixing it with an extra eye (small

  • Re: Macro assistance MLGW
The problem with this solution is that in many cases it is impossible to know what the actual volume level is before adjusting it up or down in a number of steps. The only way would be to turn the device off and on and base the settings on the default audio volume setting.
Does that BV respond to the familiar "reset"

  • Re: 5500 system
He remembers (he thinks) that there was an optional remote to the Master Control Panel, which was similar in design, but perhaps only as quarter of the width. Is he correct and if so, what's it called please?
Just to make sure, we are now talking about 5500 with a Beomaster 5500? Beomaster 5000 was different

  • Re: Married, Living Together?
To borrow a phrase from the antiques world, I think that this item may be a marriage? But between what??
Earlier, I checked that the type number should match the title, and gave up... Oops, OK, where's my 9500 white stripe???
Well? Any better?? I think so!
All right - add the straps and it'll look like a proper RL60.2 Hope the audible part will be taken care of with the new driver as well!

  • Re: BeoGram 4000 Restoration
good gracious, FCH's from 1973 wasn't that DTL logic even obsolete when I started studying...
Well, B&O did get rid of DTL chips in later models... ...converting them literally into diode-transistor logic and analogue time constants! The circuitry in 4002/04/6000 is madness
