Chat Baker - White Blues I only discovered Chet Baker very recently, but he was simply awesome, one of the great Jazz trumpeters. Simon

I have a Beomaster 1900 that sounds superb with the S45-2's that Peter is referring to. Confusingly the S45-2 says S45 on the front so you would need to aske the seller. Almost any Beovox speaker from that era would sound pretty good to be honest. Simon

Hello and welcome to Beoworld! Peters HiFi in Chester repair older B&O and the Manchester King Street branch of B&O are able to access the services of a very experienced B&O engineer. Regards Simon

It's a tough one. The soundsmith cartridges do sound better than the orginals according to what I hear. If you like the look of your current turntable and the sound is good enough (Prior to your unfortunate mishap) then why not stick with it? Due to the low tracking weight you will not have to replace it for many years to come and it will be kinder
-
I couldn't answer that myself, but the best way to get replacement capacitors would be to pm Martin (username Dillen) to ask him about a capacitor kit which will come with the correct capacitors and instructions. Simon

I think you have answered your own question, it will always bug you a little if you don't have the original stands! I am not sure where you are located, but on UK Ebay a set of S45-2s with original stands will often fetch less than a set of stands sold separately, so it is worth keeping an eye out and getting a spare pair of speakers into the bargain
-
Are you certain you have the S45-2 and not the S45? the type number on both of my pairs is 6312. Simon

Would it not be possible to use the headphone output to connect a set of active speakers? Regards Simon

On the other hand you could just buy an iPod......
