  • Re: Beocord 5000 - Tape plays then stops within 2 seconds

In case this is the older Beocord 5000 (type number 4705 or 4715) it could be the tape counter's belt. If it is loose, cutted or missing the counter won't move and the mechanism stops the playback believing that the tape has ended. Or the right-hand side circuit board (of the control buttons and tape counter) has some loosened solderings (thick

  • Re: Who made the best buy on a used Bang & Olufsen gear???

Not perhaps too interesting or new stuff but anyway: - A pair of Beovox S75 speakers for 40 euros (including postages of around 15eur!) - Beocenter 1400 in mint condition 35 euros - Beomaster 901 and Beomaster 3000 for 40 euros (!) The Beomasters needed some lamp replacing and of cource some cleaning etc. but otherwise those were complete. Also some

Die_Bogener: If the capstan is running just in one direction, then the chip is bad. Is the chip hot? More than 35-40 degrees celsius are not ok. The motor reverses if PG005_Pin_3 is high. Check, wether this pin goes high or low, the signal comes from the lower mainboard. If the signal is ok but the motor does not reverse, then a transistor QR01 DTC144

  • Re: Workshop VX5000 VX5500 How to repair and test this recorder, common faults

I started working with the VX5000. I replaced the capstan board caps with new ones but it still won't eject (or rewind = it wont reverse). There was some damage on the board - the previous owner had replaced two of the caps and the soldering points to those caps was partly lost the green surface. With soldering it did sticked to something but I

  • Re: Beomaster 3000 details

Dillen: - The red/brown cylinderical ROEs are also electrolytics, right? Correct, and when you are done replacing leaking, partly shorted or just out of spec. caps, there won't be any of the red ones left in there. In BM3000 they were actually light grey coloured.. :) Just checked! I made a list of them and I'll order replacements next time

Dillen: - How should I use the input source volume controls on the bottom? They are here to allow you to balance the inputs volumes against eachother so that the sources are at apprx the same level. - Was the TEST-switch on the rear related to this? No. Thanks. What is the function of the TEST-switch then? :) Dillen: - Is there some caps that I should

  • Beomaster 3000 details

Hello all. I have a Beomaster 3000 - the older one (around 1969-1975). I couldn't find it from the Beoworld's product-section; there was only the new BM3000 and the old BM3000-2. (In case the BM3000 would be added to product's: I can provide pictures!). Does the 3000-2 say the -2 on the front panel too? Mine says only 3000. My main questions

  • Re: Workshop MX3500 MX5500 LX5500 How to repair and test this TV , common faults

I am about to start a LX5500 repair project. I will be visiting a relative of mine who owns a malfunctioning LX5500 (losing colours) next week and I was thinking about taking the whole chassis out. Then I would take it home and replace as many caps as possible. Then take it back to the rest of the tv set and give it a try. But I would need the dismantling

  • Re: General questions concerning the BeoMaster 901

zodiac: Thanks, lausvi. I am still bothered by the speaker selection for a 901 though. I was once told, that the speakers RMS wattage should be around 70-100% of the amps RMS wattage. This way, the amp is being able to theoretically deliver more than the speaker could take. This allows you to max out the speakers (party) while the amp is still only

  • Re: General questions concerning the BeoMaster 901

I have a Beocenter 1400 which is the same as the 901 but with a tape deck. It's slim outlook makes it look really good and 901 is also a please to watch. I had the 1400 with my BeoVox S75 speakers and I never had any trouble with volume. I never play too loud but I would say it will be enough even for partying - it's very much about the sound
