  • Re: BeoPort and BeoLink PC2 difference

The software. Otherwise seem identical! The only problem with the older PC2s is that they can hum with BL3s. This is easily fixed. Newer ones with a serial number after 94247594 have this fixed. It just requires a short between pin 2 and pin 7.

  • Re: BC9300 tape2 and phono question

It allows you to connect either a tape recorder or a Beogram. The Beogram has to be fitted with a RIAA and produce line level output. Your computer works with both buttons as it is not Datalink. Beograms and Beocords respond to slightly different codes and so a Beogram will respond to Phono commands where a Beocord will respond to Beocord commands.

  • Re: My B&O - By Peter

I don't think so - it wasn't something I flaunted so only my close friends knew I had it! I was at Medical School so we didn't see that much of other students - lectures all day and in the clinical years you often worked through the night. I did lend it out for a few parties though!!

  • Re: Compressed sound from Beogram 4000

The Beogram used to come with a small brush, screwdriver and stylus balance . Having said that, I normally set the weight to about 1g in my case and then tune by ear. If it mistracks, a little more weight.

Where are you based? I could lend you a cartridge to see if it is that if replacing the lead doesn't help.

  • Re: DIN plug wiring for 4000

The Pin 2 ground is the ground for the left and right channels and will be in the RCA plugs. The earth from the casing of the DIN plug goes to the earth plug on the amplifier.

  • Re: AV7000 service docs / help on mains transformer

Unfortunately we don't have that manual as the AV7000 was really a US only model with a very few exceptions. Is yours a US one or have you managed to get the EU model. If the latter, Martin might be able to give some assistance!

  • Re: Independence.

The questioning of independence is not really the issue. I could have ended this thread but have not as we would rather things are above board. Simon is quite entitled to his views and this is not what i removed. I have sent John a PM which explains my actions and hope he agrees with them. I think a couple of posts went further than they should have

  • Beolab 4000

I was wondering if anyone had the experience of listening to the Mk1 Beolab against the new Mk2 which has ICE amplifiers in it? I have heard conflicting reports. I have two sets of Mk1s and find them excellent small speakers. What are peoples' experience of the Mk2?

  • Re: BeoLab 4 as rear speakers?

They will be fine though I would personally get Beolab 4000s second hand rather than these as I think the 4000 much better. Rear speakers do not actually get that much information sent to them though and if that will be their sole purpose, I can see the attraction. 4000s would allow you to use them in another room at a later date if you wished.
