Have you put the orientation settings the correct way? this can sometimes give exactly those symptoms.

The Beovox 3800 and MC120.2s certainly stand out as great speakers. The Beocenter 3500 is one of the best music centres B&O made and lots of people love the Beomaster 1000. Nice collection!

Wonderful device - I have one and it is IMHO the most user friendly and one of the best looking systems you can get. It will work very well with Beolab 3s and this actually bypasses the power amplifier which is possibly the weakest part of the system. (Still not bad though!) Thank you very much for this! Shame that they have stopped making the module but no doubt there are a few still around. B&O don't seem to know this as their guide does not include the earlier MXs or the LX!!

I would sell on eBay. This is an interesting system - although it is actually not made by B&O but is made in Japan! Parts are a problem - particularly for the amplifier. Your problem is that no-one uses tapes any more! I would expect it to sell though as it is a good party machine - over 2 hours of continuous music possible!! I am afraid the X25s

Bit hard! The C75 are worth more than that if no foam rot! Difficult to sell though as big and no CD player. Shame as this is a fine music centre with an excellent amplifier. Far better than the rubbish you buy in Currys these days!
