Gingerly I peeled off the bubble-wrap and slowly looked around this lovely record player. Heyup, no pieces missing! Where the heck had this piece of white plastic come from? I spent ages scratching my head and holding the piece of plastic up against various points on all four components. It was a perfect match both colour-wise and in thickness. Shaking

One by one I carried each of the four components into the lounge and carefuly cut away the bubble-wrap. Beocord 7000 first. Looked all round it for a missing piece of white plastic. It's fine. Beogram CD7000 next......fine Beomaster 7000 next...... also fine Oh no! Please, please don't let this piece of plastic have come off the beautiful Beogram

Love you too Peter! Sorry it's a bit off topic but it was all part of my journey. I got home on Monday morning and started emptying my car. Clothes bag first then Beomaster 4000 then Stereomaster 610 and finally my 7000 system. I laid them gently on my dining room table then went back to shut the boot. HORROR OF HORRORS, WHAT'S THIS?????

Gosh, What time are you reading this in Adelaide? It's nearly 5 pm here. Amongst the photo's and documents there was also a reel of cine film. I said I'd find a way to get that onto DVD but we'd need a projector. Jane said "I have one under the stairs that I bought about fifteen years ago at a car boot sale for £3" Then

I bade farewell to my friend and set off home. On the way home I said I'd pay a visit to my sister in Crewe. She had recently visited my aging parents in Oxford and had rescued some old family photo's. No prizes for guessing which one is me!

By 10.00 I managed to emerge from my room. Breakfast finished at 9 o'clock so I knew I'd missed it even though I'd already paid for it yesterday afternoon but I was hoping I might at least get a glass of orange juice or coffee.
