Beolab 3s are good but this is a big room. Remember than they have side ABRs which will be very close the edges of the cabinet. I think that the BL3s will be lacking in bass for a room this size and will not generate the sound pressure you want. You will need a sub-woofer such as the BL2 - not sure where this would go. The BC2 will not be upgradeable

The Beolab1s are better but I would rather have Pentas. Pentas are not as precise, have a upper bass bulge and are not as powerful. But they sound wonderful!

All the ones I have seen are as Graham describes. However I understand that replacing one with a hole in with one without seems to make no difference at all!

I Remember you speakers sent you a PM - however the above has said the same!! Remember the speakers if US will need the same in most cases and these use a lot more power!
-
Not really - you have to protect the rear of the tube and the frame doesn't really come apart. I would hire a panel van and get some friends to lend a hand! Secure it well though or get the packaging from a dealer.

The answer is yes, you can attach a power amp to the Avant - I would consider a Quad. You can't upgrade the sound quality of the 8000 really and if you are not happy with the 4000s, I doubt 8000s will set you on fire. The other suggestions are getting much more expensive! One possible option however is to add a Beolab 2 if you don't have one

As far as the buzz is concerned, you need a wire running from the casing of the DIN plug to the earth on your amplifier. Welcome to Beoworld.

Of course you wouldn't need to mask the wood frame as it will come off completely. The 4000 is like a huge construction kit!

I hadn't guessed that you liked Radiohead!
