The only translator (WiFi-IR) I know of that's compatible with B&O is the one from irTrans. http://www.irtrans.de/en/ irTrans also offers gateways for network control. Functions can be controlled using iRed2. http://www.tinbert.com/iRed2/ I've tested this, and it works well, but the version I tested was the early one, where you had to do

(Wrote a post that went to moderation. While waiting for that to appear): Sometimes, one is cursed by circumstances. Previous B&O mgt had very strong contacts to Microsoft, due to the LEGO&PC-control product line. In fact, one of the factors cited when TBS got hired was his strong contacts at Microsoft. So B&O picked Microsoft and Windows

Relative to performance and productivity, Mac's are not expensive, tournedos. B&O takes a premium within A/V; Apple does so within personal computing. Critics who don't know the Apple experience consider them overpriced. Two takes on that. When a large German publishing company considers buying new computers for its 10.000 employees, it

I've had an iPod Touch as a remote in the listening room for almost two years now. I have never attached a pair of earbuds to it (and I own a couple of A8s, so it's not that.) Always used it as a remote, and to check e-mail, surf, when listening. That's also how I would use the iPad, while also being able to mirror the desktop of my Mac
I've done a quick patent search and can't find anything relating to decompression algorithms - are we sure the early talk to which Trip referred wasn't confusing the MOTS algorithm with the codecs?
That could be it. There's absolutely no reason why an iPod shouldn't port perfect digital OUT

One might find it useful to read the instructions on how to use the Remote app, then. It's not as if it's very difficult. Mine renegotiates in a second if the iPod Touch or iPhone have been in sleep mode, and I'm instantly able to begin selecting and routing music. @ Razlaw Your BV7 has a very sophisticated sound and image processing unit

Amusing - maybe this is the time to point out that Mac's are the most common professional platforms for those who create the music we listen to? Used as DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations). Trip's points about sound quality are disingenuous. If you wish to port absolute top notch audio from a Mac, it's actually very simple, they are built

The only reason one needs "decompression algorithms" is that the storage capacity in the BM5 is limited, I guess. The best solution is to have an external storage device, such as a NAS (Network Attached Server), and then to have all one's music on that in lossless or high-resolution. Trip prefaces his "stellar audio" comment

CoolDude has covered a lot of the important points. I've been using a Mac front-end to control my media playback, and have described this here when I began doing so in 2007. Afterwards, a number of very sophisticated solutions for integration have been suggested by other members. Since there are so many possible avenues/approachoes/solutions, I

When you run Flash on your computer, you are downloading and activating code together with the content. This code then runs on your computer. Vimeo doesn't download code, and software that is legitimate and already installed doesn't have to download code. Apple doesn't want Flash in mobile devices for security reasons. (And people who surf
