Hey guys, I just picked up a white 6500 MCP, but the corner of the clear plastic screen cover is cracked. I'm looking for a cheap or broken MCP to sacrifice for the screen cover and wanted to make sure all MCPs use the same screen cover. I figured 5500-7000 would, but I wasn't sure about the 5000. Thanks! Austin

Hey guys, I hooked up my 3800's after they've been unused for quite a few years. On one though the subwoofer sounds distorted. When I press the cone I can hear the coil rubbing, and if I press upward the rubbing stops. So I'm pretty sure the rubber surround has just sagged with age causing the coil to rub. Has anyone tried to fix something

3 hours shouldn't do any harm to an lcd or plasma. All pixels get burnt but since they're constantly displaying different colors you don't see the differences. As more time goes by and those pixels keep displaying many other colors the difference should become negligible. The dvd's to correct for burn in often just try to burn the rest

If you've built circuits before, you can make your own external one. It's a very simple circuit. Go to National Semiconductor's website, and look at the data sheet for the LM833 chip. They give the the actual riaa preamp circuit. They also have a schematic for a two-stage riaa preamp although slightly more complicated, but that should be

The foam on my 3702's rotted, with absolutely no exposure to sunlight ever, so I don't think the sunlight is the main cause. edit: I had accidentally said my 3800 woofers were rotted too, but they aren't, and don't even have foam surrounds.

I think you could safely include the large woofers on many of the older beovox speakers. The foam on the woofers of my 3702 beovox's are rotted, but I haven't had time to replace them yet. So as of now I guess we have..... Red Line 60 CX-100 series Penta midranges older Beovox woofers edit: I had accidentally said my 3800 woofers were rotted

The midrange speakers on the Pentas are another known problem. I don't have Pentas though so I can't give any details about replacement, but I'm sure some others will chime in. (I'm posting as a seperate reply so it's easier to pick out individual speaker models)

CX-100 series is notorious for this. I luckily came across a pair practically free since they came with the 4500 system I bought, and the price for the whole system with speakers was less then I was ready to pay for the system alone without them. The foam, was so bad on all 4 that the cones were barely supported by anything. I bought 4 surrounds off

Yep, they're just DIN connections. Austin

I also lost mine awhile ago, and think it was stolen. I ended up just getting a razor v3i and a 1gb card to listen to music when I'm out though. Regarding the price of B&O, remember that used equipment is a great way to get into it. In fact many people feel that the true HiFi equipment from b&o was from the 70's to mid 90's, before
