i'm quite happy to admit when i might be wrong :) imo 1080 is pretty pointless on a tv unless it's REALLY massive , my own experience tells a lot i have a mac pro linked up to my bravia via dvi to hdmi , to save space in my bedroom ( think i might bite the bullet and get a mac display after the problems i get ) unfortunately due to the resolution

my brother has an rgb scart expander ( 1-10 ) and a component expander ( 1-5 ) as he has similair problems with his sony tv they all seem to work really well , but unfortunately they're not very nice to look at and all the cables look a mess i've heard good things about hdmi expanders - just make sure you buy a good one and if it doesn't

yes , it would have been better if they'd all standardised on 720p , imo that's more than good enough unless you go over 45 inches or so - and who has screens that big in their front rooms ? the main problem as has been mentioned is that sd looks awful on 1080 but ok on 720 maybe bno were right all along ?

if you poseurs really want to pose , don't buy bno , buy some high end krell , martin-logan , burmester , mark levinson , wilson audio ,goldmund , koetsu etc makes bno look quite frankly common , ducky !

personally i wouldn't bother with a 40" screen for 1080p , my tv has it and it's a total waste of time as 720p looks amazing anyway i guess you really do need an ENORMOUS tv to really show off 1080p at it's best and has been mentioned not everyone wants one ,we'll have to wait until they're the size of the wall and by then 1080p
