• Re: Bang & Olufsen Ealing vs Riots
As the owner of the Ealing showroom we thank you all for your comments and concerns. Thankfully we had laminated glass which could not be penetrated and there was no major damage to the stock or showroom. We will remain open during these times and hope to get back to normal soon. • Re: Antenna Impedance?: New Member BM 7000 question

One other fairly off-topic note: I was working on my best BM2400 the other day and was receiving stereo FM signals without any antenna hooked up at all . You gotta love B&O receivers.

  • Re: Antenna Impedance?: New Member BM 7000 question
(The product in the fleaBay link is technically a folded dipole, which should be matched to 300 ohms - but this doesn't matter much in practice. I'm sure it'll work well for all but the weakest stations, for which you should rather have an outdoor antenna anyway!)
I have no experience with a BM7000

  • Re: BeoPassion vs BeoObsession
BeoPassion, you only have B&O audio and video (or at least try to)
Hhhmmm... ...what if the wife and kids have mass market Japanese AV in the living room, but I only listen to B&O in the dining room, master bedroom, or guest bedroom?

  • Re: BeoPassion vs BeoObsession

And I've never set foot in a Bang and Olufsen shop. When I go to a new town, I look for the used record store, not the B&O shop. I guess I'm neither passionate or obsessed!
Come up to Columbus. We have no B&O shop, but we do have a bunch of record shops. Not that I've

  • Re: Beolab / Beomaster 5000. My dilema

Just to be clear. The Beolab 5000 and Beomaster 5000 might just be The Holy Grail around here. If you can't justify the cost of fixing them right now, either sell them to someone who will fix them - preferably me, of course - or dear God man, hold on to them until you CAN justify the cost of fixing them.

  • Re: BeoPassion vs BeoObsession
Owning anything pre-1980's = obsessed. So I'm merely Beopassionate. So far
That can't be right. I own 5 cartridges, 4 working record decks, a BG4002 in the shop, 3 beomasters, 4 pairs of Beovox, 2 cassette decks, and one CD player. Except for the Soundsmith cartridge - which doesn't even count

  • Re: What Are You Working On Now ?

What Chris said. Plus, speaker cloth is cheap. You can get 66" wide cloth at $2.50 per foot in any length you want (and in at least five colors).

  • Re: BG3404 w/ MMC20EN

I sent the Soundsmith SMMC20EN back a few days ago. It was reworked a bit and returned to me last night. I plugged it into my BG3404 (still haven't heard anything from the pro fixing my BG4002), and no sound out of the right channel again. Thinking I'm just not making electrical contact in the right channel between the cartridge and the tonearm

  • Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?

The new Soundsmith SMMC20EN has returned and works. Here it gets the obligatory "Whole Lotta Love" test.
