Find yourself some nice old lead solder - much easier than the new silver rubbish!! Having said that, I no longer try - combination of eyes and being cack-handed!

Looking at the service manual, greater than 0.5V is on, less than 0.5V is off, on Pin 4.

Looking at the service manual, it would seem to be able to come apart. I wonder if the spring is just old? It may just require cleaning if it works some of the time. I think Dillen is your man here - he may be able to supply the relay or suggest a fix.

The easy way to do it, and the way I have my BL3s connected to my PowerMac, is to use a Beoport. This allows you to control the music by remote, also allows you to link the computer music to any other B&O you have in the house and has a Powerlink socket so that you simply connect that to your BL2 and then connect the BL3s to that. Well I think it is a little naughty to sell you speakers as new when they must be at least a year old. Were they a good price? I think a bottle of B&O labelled champagne would be called for as some form of recompense!!

What type number are these? If the old ones, they will be 6637 and officially were last sold in February 2007. They will have a phono plug in addition to the Powerlink sockets. New ones, with the ICE modules, are type 6643. Personally, I am actually a bit sceptical of the new 4000s. I think they may well use the BL4 amplifiers and this is done for economy

Not sure that was meant as insulting but more a commentary on the power of Amazon. However I agree with your sentiment - this is an international community and there are differences. One nationality can often take offence simply because of terms used or a perceived slight where none was meant. It is beholden upon us all to remember this and act accordingly
