Critical bunch! I think discontinuing the DVD2 was wise as it was doing nothing for the image of B&O. I would rather and indeed do use the DVD-C and another make of DVD-R.

Is it working? The best way to clean the laser is to take the top off the machine (unplug it first!!) and the lens is immediately apparent and can be cleaned with a cotton bud and so isopropyl alcohol. I doubt that a dirty lens would stop it from working though. Service is tricky these days as many service departments have lost their old staff and now

Which Beogram 3000? The older radial decks do have replaceable styluses, though these can be tricky to find as well. They do however seem to be cheaper and the suspension seems less prone to failure.

I would get one of the cheaper Gram Slee RIAAs. You will need a 5pin DIN to phono converter but the BC2 takes phono plugs. Not sure what you do with the earth from the DIN plug.

That is a UK plug so you have a 230V model. You therefore need a step up transformer capable of increasing the voltage to 230V. It needs to be a very heavy duty one! There has been a thread about this before - it was about a DVD Avant but same basic idea - look here !
