Flappo The Grate: from what i've gleaned the reason for using led as a backlight is twofold uniformity of brightness and greatly exceeded lifespan of the aforementioned backlight no matter how much you hate to admit it , plasma is considered an old technology by most consumers and lcd has totally owned the entire market , and with new developments

Beolab: 355f: Im sure its more of a case that one 'gets used' to the sound of a new speaker rather than any actual changes that take place. There might be a little argument for this with high powered bass drivers where they can sometimes be very tight because of gthe loadings involved but in tyhe case of the little paper drivers in 8000- nothing

Beolab: 355f: For general information! http://www.synovate.com/current/news/article/2006/08/research-shows-plasma-trumps-lcd-in-consumer-preference.html Read this 355f http://www.tech.co.uk/home-entertainment/tv/tvs-displays/lcd/review/samsung-le52f96bd Well if Samsung plasmas are anything to go by I wont be holding my breath for this product, lets

Jez: Yes, the slow adaptation of basic technology is frustrating sometimes, eg: HDMI or how long it took for DVD1 to come out. Personally think that DVD2 is 2 years late and pointless. Others are understandable, eg: Blu ray, HD DVD. Yes frustrating for the customer but not for BnO they dont make 60% margin for nothing! If they adopt new technology it

Peter: Pretty sure you need a dealer to do this. The screen uses a different Panasonic remote during set up - I do have the Mk2 service manual but it will be useless without either the remote or the software tool. This is where it gets rather amusing. B&O refer to the 'no name remote' which is in fact a panasonic! if you can find yourself

....mr anders(son): The Beonic Man: Terrapolitan: @355f - So would you wait and buy a BV9 later in the year? Yes! You won't have to wait too long. and autumn next gen....and spring 2009 next gen............... I have BV9 HD and the picture is amazing If you have a BV9 HD- yes the picture is probbaly the best out there. Whilst I agree with your sentiments

The Beonic Man: Plasma is a clear winner for TVs there is no doubt. LCD is best suited for computer monitors up to a certain screen size. Thanks for the link Stephen, an interesting read, albeit a short one. I saw Casino Royal (Blu Ray) playing through a Playstation 3 on a recent Fujitsu plasma and I was blown away. It was absolutly amazing. What is

moxxey: 355f: Well it begs the question- looked good compared to what? The problem is that one tends to look at one film or dvd and make a judgement based upon that one experience.. I'm sorry, but that's a rather naive comment. The BV7-40 MKIII results in a superb picture. Of course, a lot depends on the source. If you don't like the price

moxxey: Please define 'future proof'. Why people believe they can future proof technology is beyond me. Does making a BV7 100Mhz make it 'future proof'. Future proof against what? It's not as if TV programmes will become 100Hz only in the near future. Hell, in the UK we're struggling to move across to digital, never mind HD.
