This thread has certainly taken off! The last post about longevity is the important one - B&O are not good at dealing with rapidly moving technologies. Once stable, they source what can be recognised as the best and use that. Unfortunately, this is impossible in this flat screen market as screens are out of date the moment they leave the factory

Get a Beosystem 3 and a Panasonic screen - still integrate with your B&O equipment but get a bigger screen. I must confess to agreeing with you at the moment!

Probably my fault. The 8000, 8002 and 6006 are probably the pinnacle of the tangential Beograms. The drive system is very clever and extremely accurate and it has the best arm drive mechanism. By later tangential decks, I meant the 5005 etc, all of which were the same as each other and which were quite lightweight and didn't have the same tangential

I wouldn't have thought this a great idea as you will have no remote control. A £20 DVD from Tesco will probably work better!

No! The 6006 is the one to have but be prepared for maintenance.

Not sure of the make though B&O sourced tweeters from a variety of makes including Philips and ITT. It won't be available any more but it would be worth asking Dillen if he has one. To post in the for sale and wanted forums, you need to be a silver or gold member.
