Welcome to Beoworld. The S55 is a pleasant smaller speaker but does indeed suffer from foam rot. I would suggest having the surrounds replaced rather than the drive units. If you are in the UK, I would suggest Recone Lab as being able to this for you. I suggest ringing them as they are not great at email!! I would consider having the capacitors in the

Very short lived deck - it replaced the 1800. It takes the MMC1-5 cartridge. RCA plugs were standard. We could actually do with a good picture of one of these for Beocentral! If you are in a position to take one, please let me know and I'll tell you what I need! These decks were made so one could use a Beogram with other makes of Hi-Fi. I remember

The amplifier designed for this was of course the Beolab 150. The MCL2P is not really much better than the amplifier in the 3300 - both are about 30W. I would look for something more powerful than the MCL2P. Not sure how you will drive a power amplifier as I don't think the 3300 has a pre-amp out. The Beolab 150 takes an amplified input.

Actually, I suppose you could use the cross over in the Cona - send amplified signal to the Cona, and then take the amplified output from the Cona to the Pentas via the Speakerlink connection. I am sure the Pentas will sound better by themselves but I confess to never having tried this. I use a BL2 with mine but for music, the Pentas are best without

I have no problem with people disagreeing with Trip - I disagree with him! I will not however indulge in personal attacks but will disagree with the message. Trying to belittle the message by attacking the poster personally is an ad hominem attack and doesn't further the discussion, only causes offense. I am sure Trip has no problem with people

I don't think either were keen to contribute - Lintronic were offered their own forum but wanted this for free. To be fair, these are both small companies with small advertising budgets no doubt. They are also useful links for members as they offer services that are not otherwise available. A bit of sponsorship from B&O might be nice though

I must confess to being disappointed by this thread. I agree that what Trip wrote doesn't fit with my idea of B&O but we all write posts where we exaggerate our stance for effect and take it to extremes as part of a debate. I believe that is what has occurred here. By all means shoot the message but personal attacks are simply unpleasant and

What are you connecting it to? Any common earth will do - the chassis of what you are connecting it to should do.

I think it is more like some dealers are finding making money very difficult and have not put enough away during the good times to weather the bad. I am afraid we will see closures - a number are in the pipeline but this should see the better stronger dealers survive and continue to offer good service. Those who do not look after their customers and

I would be grateful if we can keep this thread civilised. I disagree with what Trip says but he has an opinion and has voiced it in a reasoned fashion as he is entitled to do. He should not be criticised for spelling or grammar - we all make mistakes when typing and such attacks are mean spirited. As I stated before, the problem B&O has is trying
