I thought you were quiet Eugene!

The cartridge looks like an Ortofon OM / OMB to me. Quite nice carts actually, I have a little project with one coming up :) They fit on standard headshells.
Motors are fine... that was the first thing I checked.
DVdude did you check board 45 as above? Make sure you measure across the IC pins if you usually ground the negative to take measurements. Make sure machine is on or press load [cd/tape] while measureing too! Also I think the manual states 14v not 15 sorry

I think it's legit. I can see why people would think Nomad is a 'cool' name only to regret it later on lol! Although I would never sell anything like that as a first item! If I was the winner and found myself entering an area of portable homes I would probably not go any further though!

Eugene I am sure they are all mostly identical but for a few small changes here and there... I am pretty sure the Beocord 5000 and Beocenter 4000 (the good one!) had the same mechs, different to these!

Board 45 (upper middle display board), have you checked that there is a 15V supply across supply pins 2 and 4 of IC 2 or 3?

You really need to establish why this capacitor has lost its leg or footing. Could simply be a dry joint, but if it has broken you need to check that the capacitor ends are not bulging, as this is a sure sign of failure!

Thanks for the prod BTW Soren

Made it, just in time! Good luck to all :)

Oh I think I might actually remember to attend this one! Someone give me a gentle prod when it starts will they?
