soundproof: I really enjoyed the list that Andro put together, and have already made some musical discoveries that would otherwise probably have continued to go unnoticed. (There's so much out there!) The Tunstall track is brilliant and I had missed Beck's Pork Pie Hat -- both very good tracks. And Puncher's comments about the Phil Collins

kokomo: The whole thing is a useless exercise.... All we are getting therefore is a list an individuals' favourites. I will also disagree with your analysis here.... Some of our members are long-time audiophiles...some are industry professionals, and many are 'just' Kool-Aid® drinking fans of the company. Whatever...this exercise benefits

Alex: That doesn't mean it'll always be better though, the BeoLab 2 will often just end up confusing the sound in a small to large/medium room. The BeoLab 9s can produce oodles of bass by themselves! Alex, A quick question from the 'left' side of the Pond...are 'oodles' metric or english? Russ

That sort of mix-and-match is possible, but without more information on the Pioneer 'media box', it is impossible to tell you exactly how it might best be done. Russ

I do understand that part of the dilemma, but depending on what method you've used to get your music onto the AppleTV to begin with, one more conversion step likely won't be noticeable. Certainly considering the difficulties you're going to overcome to get there. Russ

I think what you ought ot do is what I have done, make all connections from the AppleTV directly to the BeoVision 5...OK, mine's an Avant-US, but the priciple is the same. I think you'll be quite pleased. Russ

Perhaps still not there yet, someone will correct me certainly, but I think that the BeoLab 5's will need to 'see' either a 'CD' command coming down the display/data lead on the fully wired PL, or a 'Radio' command at their ir sensor before they will check their digital input for a signal. You may also be asking for issues

Specifically for the BeoLab 5's: The O-Zone Percussion Group, CD 'La Bamba' track #10 "Jazz Variants" Phil Collins DVD "Finally...the First Farewell Tour", Disc 2, "Take me Home" Don't bother with the 9's, 1's, Pentas, or anything with a BL-2...trust me. I also rather like K T Tunstall's "Heal

Alex, I'm thinking that your proposed connection won't work because you have missed one crucial issue. Not all 'digital' signals are created equal. The beoLab 5 expects, and indeed only accepts, 'Red Book' CD audio streams on it's digital input. I'm relatively certain that the Apple TV only outputs Dolby Digital surround

355f: TerryM: Does one really think that the likes of Panasonic will quickly write off their massive investment in LCD,and Plasma, Panel manufacturing plant? Is one really saying that the development of LCD,and Plasma,PQ has been taken as far as it can go? Witness the massive improvement of Pioneer's 9G over their 8G. How long will it take for OLED
