I'm still using my Beovision LX5500 from 1989. I've had it since 2006 and its really great value for money. They last better than the Avant and MX series. It depends on the tv signal but the picture is very sharp and sound very good. I use a VX7000 and a JVC dvd player on the 2 scart inputs. I get a extra remote with the dvd but it works great

I think Dillen can give the best answer on that as he has done alot. The Beomaster 8000 is a complicated machine with alot of electronic devices from a service point of wiev. Yes and no. At the moment I'm getting a dead VX7000 for repairs. My main VX7000 is still going but if its get hot it will not perform well and have to cool of. I have seen Die Bogners thread on these.

To me it's the design first. I noticed that allready as young kid at my grandparents. Then I find out how good it is by daily use. This will quickly decide if it's staying or going next time I will make a change for other audio or video. With B&O I find the sound great and the units very well done.
