bayerische: mfirst: I live in the U.S. - there is no second hand market THE BIGGEST consumer market in the world, and no SH market? Please Except for ebay, there is virtually no second hand market for B&O in the US. The Bang & Olufsen brand is largely unknown in the US except maybe in the recent Batman movie. B&O stores are usually in large

There has been some unconfirmed rumours that the BM1 could be used with BS5 instead of a BM5... So wait until the specs are released before selling it. p. Thanks. I hope those rumors are true. I was told by B&O several months ago to expect the price to be between $5000 and $6000 USD. I should have known they meant the higher price. I guess its like

Okay I am convinced! I am going to visit my local B&O dealer today and place an order for a Beosound 5 or at least ask that I be put on the waiting list. I will be using BS5 with a Beocenter 2. I was going to sell my BC2 but I like the design and decided to keep it. However I will have a Beomedia 1 to sell which I will post on Beoworld. I have been

wtlc2zpx: If you contact Apple customer service, and explain what happened, they will allow you, as a favour to re-download all your songs. They will only let you do this once per itunes account, as a commercial gesture. Of course, better safe than sorry, we should all backup our music. p. Thanks for the information. You are right about backing up.

No matter how good a hard drive in a given machine is, there is significant probability it will fail and all of your music will be lost. Using Beomaster 5 as a mirror of your music library on your editing PC is a very smart idea. I learned the lesson the hard way. A couple of years ago, the hard drive on my pc failed. I did have a backup of the system

RussR: Depending on just how far west of the Ohio you are, you may substitute 'Spartans', 'Wildcats', 'Beavers', or 'Bruins', and get the sentiment. Or carefully research my present Avatar. Major College program, major conference, big aspirations...constant disappointment. Thanks. I understand it now. I live in Chicago

RussR: Well, since we're back to ripping our hair out about all of the things the BM-5/BS-5 doesn't do; let me make 2 points. 1) We are talking about a modular system here. BeoSound 5 is an audio-specific front-end for the BeoMaster 5. But we already know that you'll also be able to use BeoVisions as front ends as well. We've also all
-
Alex: I would seriously retain judgement until you've actually seen/used it. It will all make sense then... You are right on this one. We are all trying to figure out what the Beosound 5 is without a list of the specifications. We only have a few pictures and the Beoconnect procedure for the Mac. This is not much to go on. I might add that other

beocool: Alex: I don't see why I would want to download an album when I can buy it for the same price or thereabouts and get a physical copy which is sonically superior. Same here. I agree also but in the not too distant future, the physical CD will be a rare item not unlike vinyl records. When A/V manufacturers, record companies, and software companies

macsat: Yes - there will be both SPDIF and normal AUX Out. Also I am quite sure there is AUX In. And there will be Masterlink as well of course. Thanks for the information. I am now more than really interested in the Beosound 5. For me, the AUX in is the most important. I am going to connect a Beogram 7000 to the AUX in of the Beomaster 5. What a contrast
