You could but you would need to cut the tails off the end to make sure they don't get caught on anything. Wiring them yourself is definitely the best way of making sure they're the correct length etc... I personally hate having excess cable coiled up behind units etc... although I can't really afford to cut down all my cables to the right

S/PDIF goes from the BeoSound 9000 to the BeoLab 5s (daisy-chained from one to the other). MasterLink goes between the BeoSound 9000 and the Avant. PowerLink goes from the Avant to ALL the speakers - regardless of whether you're using S/PDIF or not. The S/PDIF signal only carries information from the CD, no other sources. For what it's worth

I wouldn't say you're taking the mick in any way. What model is the tweeter? You can't really just put 'a titanium tweeter' in it as a replacement, you need to make sure it's the correct driver.

I'd have a listen to some Quantic . It's got that same kind of 'fuzzy 60s' sound. Other similar(ish) stuff is Red (note there are quite a few bands called Red), Funki Porcini and 9 Lazy 9 . Currently listening to Quantic - An Announcement to Answer.

True, but I don't believe DACs have really moved forwards since then. After all, the DAC in the CD5500 & Co is 20 years old now and still highly regarded.

Just found this . From what it seems, the AD1852 seems to be quite difficult to implement correctly, but when it's done correctly it's a very high performance chip. Don't you do stuff like this Punch?
