  • Re: Help with new (to me) RX-2

Sounds odd! Does the stylus actually touch the record? You should get noise - whether pleasant or not is immaterial in the first event! If all you get is static, there is something wrong with the connection of the cartridge to your amplifier. You need to find out where. Put the record player on to play and then manually lift the arm after it drops.

  • Re: Collection of B&O amps and speakers - how to use and/or mix - What would YOU do?

Debatable - I like the 8000 but prefer the 4400. The 5000 is the benchmark for build quality. The progress in circuit design was accompanied by a decline in quality of materials. It is a matter of opinion as to where the ideal compromise is met. I like the late seventies (4400), some prefer the early 80s (8000). Both are reasonable choices - it just

  • Re: Beomaster Control Module

You can hear if it works! Or maybe your son can!! Makes a high pitched noise - must be harmonics of the control signal!

  • Re: BeoLab 8000 for BeoLab 8002 exchange used for new

Agree - I think the 8000/8002 is a gorgeous looking speaker. There have been calls for years to make them ICE powered (I should say not from me ) and I think this is a perfectly reasonable thing to do. I know they thought about just calling the new ones the 8000 - much like they have done with the 4000 which exactly the same thing has happened to. I

You can though I would simply post on site - you will get others with similar products chipping in. I actually check my email less than the site - I get quite a lot of emails...

  • Re: Beo6 and BS8

The BS8 has been seen in a number of posts - look under iPod dock - no photos but a reasonable picture which is accurate. No idea about the Beo6 - no picture come my way yet! Happy to be sent one though! LOL Peter

The P45 is an excellent choice - slightly bass light like the S45.2 but very accurate. Will work very well with the 7700 but check the bass units and glue them as Martin suggests ! I would imagine an Avant 28 DVD is rarer than a 32! I use a 32 and it is a super set and works well with a 9500. The Avant is stereo but adding external speakers makes it

The problem with the BM7000 speaker 1 connection is the mute relay. It needs taking apart and cleaning or replacing. Well worth doing and a very common fault! Your set up is certainly different! The BM4400 is actually a better amplifier than the Beolab 5000 - it is after all 10 years younger in design and is direct coupled. However I use a Beolab 5000

  • Re: Beogram 3000 Acoustical - anyone on here?

I think this is something we could run with - I will discuss this and see if we can come up with a system. It may be that it should be a pick up system - packaging is slightly fraught with delicate equipment - even when done carefully.

  • Re: Beocenter 7700-questions

You will probably need new cassette belts fitting and it does have the infamous red capacitors which will be leaking by now. However this is well worth getting fixed. This music centre can be seen as a mini 8000 system in many ways except that it is far more advanced from a control point of view. The amplifier is 'only' 40W a channel, but these
