I heard back from Benny today regarding this nightmare . He ultimately replaced the motor, the relay, and the trim pots to get the speed right. He also did some adjustments to my tonearm and replaced the output cable (at my specific request).

And now I've moved to my bedroom where I'm listening to the Police's Synchronicity on S45-2s while drinking Wines That Rock's The Police Synchronicity and posting to Beoworld about batteries.

I just removed the four screws on the back of the remote, pulled the remote apart, and put the batteries in as shown one at
