• Re: Dave Moulton, King Street, the prize draw........and me.

I do hope the slope is actually more of a small undulation! You must be very proud of your daughter! Thank you for the support you show Beoworld and I do hope you feel better soon. Peter

  • Re: mute doesn't work

It is very common for the mute relay, which, as Andy says, only works on Speaker 1, to stick. It can be disassembled and cleaned and this normally fixes it. I had a similar problem with a BM5500 but confess to have been lazy and simply used Speaker 2!

  • Re: Calling Norther Beoworlders

Meetings need to offer more than just a drink and a chat. I went to one of the Manchester meetings and it was excellent. But it did mean my taking a days holiday and cost a not insubstantial sum in train ticket and hotel expenses. I enjoyed meeting the other members and thoroughly enjoyed the jazz, but am aware that I could afford this and others might

  • Re: B&O 12" ST/P pickup arm

The 12" arm is relatively rare though at least three of us have one - four including you! These have all started life as Beograms with the 9" arm though. Therefore they are not that rare. As far as I know, there was only one type of 12" arm and it takes the SP1/2 cartridge which uses a different tracking angle to the later SP6/7 etc.

  • Re: Today's B&O Financial Statement

The loss of over one quarter of the UK sales is astonishing. And that is with the introduction of the BV10 which I believe has been pretty successful. Worrying times.

  • Re: Beocenter 7700-questions
Doctor, we can not find the post from Martin what to do with bass drivers of P45 ...heeeeelp please!!!!!!!!!!!
Martin's log in is Dillen. The advice is to glue the magnets of the bass units to the frame of the speaker. If they fall off, and they do, the speaker is broken.

  • Re: Rear Speakers Recommendation

I don't have a BL11 so have not heard one at home. I have however had both a BV10 and BL3s. The BV10 needs upper bass and so does the BL3 - one of its slight weaknesses. I have used a BL2 but this would be unsuitable for you in your setting. The sub-woofer makes far more difference IMHO than rear speakers. BL3s will not overpower BL4000s. BL4000s

  • Re: Rear Speakers Recommendation

I would get the cheapest available. Second hand pair of BL4000s would be my choice. Beolab 3s will be only worth it if you have £3000 burning a hole in your pocket. I would actually get a BL11 first.

I use 1.3g for my axel cartridge - works very well on my 4000.
