Beosound 1 is full-range and stereo... I would definately recommend visiting your dealer for a demo. Forget about spls and watts etc and trust your ears - I personally think they sound great for their size but prefer the design of its predecessor, the Beosound Century.

Hi, Any dealer should be able to do this for you - Its a straightforward job although the part won't be cheap! Best regards Llewelyn

Transmitter cable will be the same. As for the software, it's the same eprom as the avant, beosystem 2, bv5 etc so you should be able to upgrade to the latest stb's no problem.

Hi They do come with templates, and they also come with a B&O bottle opener that has been modified slightly to enable you to prize the speaker frets off once fitted which is quite cool. As far as I know, you should have no problem pulling any of the sources through! Cheers Llewelyn

It can carry 8 channels of uncompressed digital audio!

If you had to pick one product from each product type out of the current range, I would say: - Beovision 7 - Beolab 3 - Beosound 4 - Beocom 6000
-
Hi Do you mean component? What gives you the impression that HDMI cannot handle 5.1? Have you tried taking the component leads out of the equation? Llewelyn

I know B&O still supply them although I don't know of anywhere else! Regards Llewelyn

Hi Having done some research it seems I am actually looking for a Beolink Video instead! I need it for linking an Avant to an MX4000, and was under the impression that a 1611 would do it - However it seems that the 1611 can only handle audio IR so I am now looking for a Beolink Video instead! Best wishes Llewelyn

Hi there Yes you will need the stb table updating which is simply an eprom swap, not sure how much dealers charge for this, or if they would sell you the chip on its own (comes with instructions!), but its a straightforward job. I think sw. 3.6 or higher has the SKY+ table on it. Best wishes Llewelyn
