Soundproof is right on. Meeting a price-point was a higher priority with the BS8 than with many other products. While it's still at the higher end of the market, it represents good value for money and is competitive with speakers that cost significantly more that it does. The AE solution is a good one. I wouldn't want any other technology built into a B&O product since their lifespan will almost certainly outlast whatever technology they'd integrate. With the AE model, you can just pop on the new version when Apple changes things.
