Unlikely to be due to weight/balance ... try wiggling the stand wire ...

Mine did the same ... the cause ... the freeview box was set to look for software updates every night ... and when it turned on, it signalled the TV to via the scart. Neil

If the problem does not exist with radio ... that rules out anything on the output side of the audio switching ... the basic CD mechanism reads as a bit stream, so its not a reading issue ... my guess is something on the stereo decoding/input to the multiplex. Sounds obvious really. Give me a shout if you need a fix. Neil

ok, that suggests to me that the supply is fine ... but there is a dead component ... most likely the line output transistor that is shorted. do you have someone who can look into this for you? Neil

Can you hear it trying to start? ie. is there a very quiet whistle ... or is there no sound at all when you apply power to it? Neil
