The BeoCenter 6-series do not have the HDMI input - only DVI. On the 6-23 you get the picture on the screen by pressing "PC" on your Beo4. Then you need to pull up the DVI SETUP menu (press MENU) to adjust the settings for the DVI-input. Your PC (sorry, Mac) should be set up with the correct resolution for the external display (1366x768).
