A tough one, really, since the main bearing is a press-fit into the thick subchassis metal plate. I've had a couple of these faults on the bench myself and I've managed to fix the bearing using 2-comp. epoxy (Araldite) glue of the good old slow-setting type. Squeeze as much as you can in below the brass flange, add a flat bead around it, make

I'm sure Atlantic Systems have diagnosed correctly. I've only heard good things about their services. Martin

That looks like a metal tachodisc suffering from a severe mechanical damage. Looks as if a stray screwdriver hit it. I have never seen that before. I cannot say if this is the sole reason for the speed problem but there is no doubt that this fault will confuse the speed regulating processor. I can supply a new tachodisc in stainless steel, it's

More likely it needs a new opto sensor or a cleaning of the switch. Does the MCP light up when you rotate the volume wheel ? - If not, the switch is probably bad. - If it does, the switch is fine and the opto is bad (I can supply new optos) Martin

The Beogram CD50 shown in the very first catalogues was indeed a prototype. It was also advertized to include a peak-search function, a thing the production models never had. Martin

Spotted in the Struer museum, it only has the museum label at the back. No serial number etc. The Beogram CD50 below it, however, has a red label with "Kab.Montage" on it, suggesting that it is merely an empty cabinet. Martin

José, welcome to Beoworld ! If we are talking about the output stage transistors, they are type 2N5034 and long out of production. Finding new 2N5034 transistors is impossible. You may be able to find modern substitutes with the same specs but it's an old transistor with a very unique housing (seen with modern eyes) so no modern transistors

I suppose the subchassis is merely standing on the bottom plate now. Is the solenoid thing rubbing on something ? Try lifting the subchassis away from the bottom plate a bit. Martin
