Tim has written a good piece on this at Beocentral. Essentially rare pieces occur for a number of reasons: 1. Nobody bought it because it didn't meet market needs (took too long to develop) or it wasn't very good! Think Beosystem 10! 2. They have all broken because they had a fatal flaw - MX3000 and, to be fair, the brilliant BeoVison 3400.

They have a veneer finish and in some ways resemble a very large Beocord 2400 (if you close you eyes!)

Well done! B&O do seem to keep the shift keys a secret - no mention on the manual! Luckily , members seem to have tried every combination over the years!!

I would suggest that this is an earthing issue. To start with, try earthing the aerial feed to the TV.

All sorts of anomalies here! The type number is written 892416 by hand and the transformer cover has Beomaster 3000 on it!

The V8800 is actually V2000 rather than VHS. Huge recorder with a double sided tape! Technically better than VHS though never fully developed! Glad to see the virus is not completely dominant!

Buy a locking one - you can pay whatever you like - obviously - here is a cheap one! And here is a slightly more expensive one! And here is a very silly one!

Some of the top Sony equipment is superb - aimed at a totally different market , but beautifully built. Like you, I have almost exclusively bought B&O - I know what I like and I want something that is beautiful, easy to use and good sounding. I think B&O electronics are as good as just about anything on the market and cannot tell CD players
