  • Re: b&o 5000 turns off after 5-10 seconds

This is a really common problem (assuming its the later, 1980's Beomaster 5000 you're talking about) Do a search for 'Beomaster 5000 idle current' Cheers, Ben

  • Re: BG4002 Parting out

Sounds good... I need to recap my 4004... I'm getting some strange faults at the moment! If you don't win, I have the stylus guard from a broken MMC20E that you could have. I even have a stylus from a broken MMC6000 if you fancy a real challenge! Best Regards, Ben.

Other items include an MMC 6000 cartridge with no stylus! Some lucky person has already placed a bid.

  • Re: Which (if any) Penta Speakers will work with Beosystem 3000

Yep, you want them with the speakerlink connections, which I believe all versions to have. The Penta I's also have 'bare wire' type inputs too, which may or may not be advantageous for you. The displays won't work though, no matter which versions you choose. Avoid the Beovox versions.... The Beomaster 3000 amplifier is pretty anaemic

  • Re: Terrifying B&O Stories!

I had a similar experience a few years back. When I first got my Beomaster 5000, it had some gremlims that I didn't have chance to fix straight away. One of which was the random turning on to untuned radio frequencies at full volume. I was however using the preouts at the time, feeding a pair of large 250w mono amplifiers, which were connected to

  • Re: BeoLink 7000

You'd better hurry and buy your replacement NiCads soon.... If you're in the EU then the sale of these are being restricted under a new directive, as of the 26th of last month! I'm not sure if NiMH can be swapped in as an alternative without modifications to the charging circuit.

  • Re: Bm 5000 panel won't open

I'll second the flexible connector, it appears to be a common problem. Mine was already repaired when I got it, with what looks like part of a computer IDE cable, soldered at both ends. Cheers, Ben

  • Re: Attach glass

I left my glass panels to soak in warm soapy water for a while. The old tape more or less just peeled off after that! Ben.

  • Re: Replacement Glass - MCP 5000

Just looked at mine, and the glass appears lightly smoked, and is painted on the reverse, with rectangles left clear, so the displays can be read. So, it should be fairly straightforward to replace. Cheers.

Your making me want to get mine out, along with my M75's and start using it again!
