• Re: Polishing?

Thanks everyone, I got a Micro-Mesh kit and the lid is shinier than it's ever been. It had a huge scratch on the far right-hand side of the lid (possibly transport damage), I used quite coarse sandpaper to get rid of that first, and subsequently got onto polishing the lid. It might need another pass since it's not 100% clear, but it's a

  • Re: Beolink 1000 to Beosystems...

What's the model number on those code converters? Those might come in handy for anyone who has a BS -000 (BS2000, 3000, 5000) and would like to use Beolinks or would like to tie any older systems together with their Beovision or Beosounds in the bedroom. The Beolink 1000, 5000, 7000 and Beo-x remotes work out of the box with any stacks and flat

  • Re: CD50 problems

The CD50 disc spindle motor is a brushless motor with its own control circuit. The coils or Hall sensors may be faulty, but the first thing I should check is whether the 'disc clamped' switch closes. It should engage once the tray is completely closed and the disc is in position, and should give a positive 5V on pin 19 of 8IC310. The switch

  • Re: Beolink 7000 Clock mysteries
Ah interesting, thanks for the information Die Bogener! A question related to this: in a linkroom, is it possible to stop the local tv from interfering? My only transceiver in my bedroom (where I have a bl7000) is my two-way MX4000, that is connected to an MCL2AV (which is connected to the BS7000 in the livingroom), and
I suggest you replace capacitors in the Beomaster power supply and also on the processor and IR modules. Martin
While you're at it, giving the IR receiver window a good cleaning wouldn't hurt.
I would also like to imagine that the total eneregy required to add these extra components (and lets face it they will all come like that soon) to electrical equipment will be greater than the energy saved. Mad world. 10%
Think of all the time it took to engineer such a solution, all of the energy spent in
If you have PIN protected B&O equipment it really is too much hassle to have to keep re-entering the PIN. Graham
No law will say you actually have to USE the switch. It's just some stupid European regulation -- because of energy consumption, all new devices now have to have the ability to be switched

  • Re: Beogram 4002 tone arm won't lower
Nah, I don't think there will be high demand of parts, because most parts are still ok, but just needs new lubricant to "unstuck" or make it move again. Stylusses are a bigger issue, but there are enough compagnies that can upgrade or renew the current stylusses and tips. Even original styluses can be bought

  • Re: BeoCord 5000 (1980's) not responding correctly to control buttons

Hey, I never knew those motors to have a control PCB inside them - I figured it was just a DC motor, as the Beocord 2000 service manual doesn't show any relevant stuff around it. I have a spare BC2000 which (presumably) had a shot motor, the power supply comes up nicely and the CPU works without a hitch, but the motor doesn't spin, rendering
It's not a common thing to see the fusing resistor blow but it's a common thing to see the fusing resistor blow when something is not right. That's what it was designed for. The motor rarely shorts, but I suppose it could happen. Have you tried desoldering one lead from the motor and put in an amperemeter
