Hi Brian and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a couple of good projects to get your teeth into there. There are plenty of knowledgable people here who can give you technical information. It is always nice to see pictures of these restorations so please post a progress report. It may be better to start this in another section rather than the

I've used the tape from More-than tape from eBay and it certainly is sticky stuff and seems to match the size I needed. I'd use that for all my B&O tape required repairs. I had a job getting the backing tape off though!. Dave.

First time I've seen one of these and I think it's the Beocord Unitape (512?). Hefty pricetag though: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180600120636&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Dave.

Hi Martin, OK, the spring1638 which tensions the nylon shaft had become disconnected at the shaft end (what a job that was to get on again!). Thanks Martin, I'll check it when I get home later. Dave.

Thanks Soren. I've seen some of your recent threads regarding repairs. I'm hoping it's simple but don't want to mess about with it in case I damage anything. It sounds as though a piece under the tonearm has to be pushed down and the tonearm angled in somehow. Trouble is, I've got big fingers! Dave.

Just taken delivery of a white Beogram 6500. The cartridge wasn't removed nor the stylus guard lowered and I found it wedged between a PCB and the outer frame right inside the unit. The tip of the MMC5 is missing - is this worth Axel fixing? I have an MMC2 I can also use on this deck plus the seller is sending me a replacement cartridge (hopefully

I agree with the Scart comment. Especially if the viewing angle is changed when the TV comes on. On my set, the Scart lead used to get flexed when the TV moved on the stand. This loosened it and the result was similar to your problem. One of the pins bent and wouldn't seat properly so I had to replace the Scart lead - problem solved. Dave.
