Having mentioned the Xmas sale here I missed the deadline and didn't place an order! A further thought regarding two-way remotes: I wonder if you could use the Lintronic box to control a BC9500 with a MCP5500 (or 5000, or 6500 for that matter). Surely the box could both convert the IR signal from the MCP to the BC9500 and then the return IR signal

A word of caution, I don't think that the BL5000 works with the BM5500 in two way mode. See here: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/1049/6904.aspx#6904 I have a BL5000 but am unable to fix my broken BM5500 hence unable to test. With a bit of patience you should be able to find an MCP5500 for less than a Beo4 - it's a much more impressive remote

Just worked this one out! When I turn the BL5000 over, 'SHIFT' then 'CONTROL' displays the current time. I suppose I should have guessed this, as CONTROL was the 'new' button.

Are you sure that it is not just faulty buttons on the front control panel? My son's BC2300 had this (common) problem and we fitted a new contact pad avail from B&O at about £30 - a bit tricky to fit. Of course if you can't search from a Beolink either then it's not not the buttons, and may be more complex.

Good to hear - I have found the MCL system very reliable to date. And it's great to be able to use a two way remote in the MCL room - worth getting an MCP5500 if you haven't already.

Blue is neutral in the plug for my BM900K (I still have UK plugs on my eqpt, having recently moved from UK). But I think both live and neutral are isolated by the mains switch within the BM, so no problem if they are the wrong way around.

Anyone know for sure if (and how) I can wire an MCL sensor as the external IR eye? I would like to do this because the latest Lintronic hardware version cannot receive B&O 455khz remote signals directly. Thanks

If you buy direct from Denmark I think they have a 25% Xmas sale this month, see http://www.lintronic.dk/

If you change one of the connection input options to 'STB' (and then press enter - centre button) does the TV screen then come up with a list off different makes of Set-Top-Boxes? If so, you have a STB controller so your Beo4 should be able to control any of the boxes listed. What buttons does the second row down on your Beo4 remote have? DTV
There is one on Ebay at the moment which is untested but does have the screen so I a gonna try and win this at a reasonable price then try a make one good Beolink 5000 out of the two.
Nidul, I can't help thinking that you should be concentrating on looking afer/repairing the equipment that you already own
