  • Beosound 3 U.S. useable in UK?

Hi, just saw that Amazon U.S. are selling the Beosound 3 at $499 (just over £300). Would this work out cheaper than U.K., after shipping, duty and VAT, and would the unit work here? Alternatively, does anyone know the going rate for one in good condition, boxed, in the UK? I've looked on auction sites, but can't find any. Many thanks,

  • Beosound 2 docking station loose connection. Dealer says £100!

I have a BS2 and the wire has come loose at the RJ plug that goes into the mains transformer. I contacted a B&O dealer and they want me to pay "around £100" for a replacement, that is the whole thing except the player. I can't believe the wire itself can't be replaced fairly easily. Is it available as a part, and if so does

  • Re: Advice on buying a used music system.

Many thanks for all your helpful and informative replies. I'm going to look into the various options you've outlined. One last question: are there any pitfalls or problems to look out for with the equipment mentioned? Steve.

  • Re: Advice on buying a used music system.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I had thought of adding speakers to the BS1, but decided against for two reasons: 1. I want to move the BS1 to another room 2. It somehow seems 'redundant' to add speakers to what is effectively a loudspeaker! Budget £750-£900, I know it's not a lot, but if I had the cash... that's why I'm

  • Advice on buying a used music system.

Hi, I've been using my Beosound 1 as my main music system for some time, but I'm starting to miss the stereo separation achievable with a separate speaker system. My question is; what's the best value decent system, including speakers, I could get reasonably easily secondhand and what approximately would be the cost? I'm in the UK. I

  • Re: Beosound 3 radio tuner stereo or mono?

Hi britops, I'll contact my local dealer and try the BS3 out if they'll let me. I'd rather buy B&O than Bose if I can. Does anyone have any experience of the Bose Wave Radio/cd II versus the BS3? Many thanks, Steve.

Would they let me have a home trial? Steve.

  • Re: Beosound 3 radio tuner stereo or mono?

Hi thanks for your replies. I tried a BS3 at a B&O shop. The radio reception in the shop was poor, unacceptable in fact, and I doubt whether it would be any better at home. I also can't understand why it can be set to sleep from the radio but not the SD card, although you can set the alarm for both. All in all, horror of horrors, I'm going

  • Re: Beosound 2 OSX and iTunes

Hi thanks for the replies. Yes, I'd like to be able to connect directly from iTunes to the Beosound and organise them into albums. gk31ax, if you want to use your Beosound 2 try going back to iTunes 4.6. It works. The reason for my request is that I'm using a MacBook Pro and I'd like a Universal Binary app, as it would be much quicker at
